For everything you’ve been doing for me lately.  I think that things are finally starting to go good for me for once!

In The Right Place At The Right Time For The Right Reasons

Last week, my pastor gave a very profound sermon in church. In it, he gave an example of how God sent events in motion years before to bring people together in a certain situation.  I know that that has occurred in my life.  As much as a miss living where I grew up in Virginia, I think it was His will that caused us to move here to West Virginia where I live now.  Back in 1997, a friend of my Mom’s from her work invited Mom to her church.  Mom asked me to come along.  I did, even though it made me feel very uncomfortable, since I knew none of the people there at church, and since I’m a bit on the shy side, I was afraid that someone would make a wisecrack about my weight.  Amazingly, no one did, so I decided to go the next week. And the next week, and the next week…until I was finally saved in September of 97, and I haven’t looked back since.  I don’t think I would have had the chance to come to God if I had not relocated.  So God does know what he’s doing!

Some Tricky Questions

How would you handle the following situations?

Situation 1:  Your brother/sister marries your high school bully, who tortured

                     you for 4 years and nearly drove you to suicide.  Your brother

                     or sister later needs a kidney transplant to survive. Could you l

                    let bygones be bygones?

Situation 2:  Your parents marriage ends in divorce because one of them

                     had and affair. The cheating parent later marries the person they

                    cheated with, and has a child with them. your half sibling later

                    needs a bone marrow transplant. Would  you volunteer, knowing

I'm not writing this to anger my fellow Christians. I writing this so that we might ask ourselves the following questions.

How would Jesus would fit in modern day America?

Would he be welcomed or would he meet the same demise he met when he first appeared?

How would he be welcomed in your church?

How would his criticism of your church be received, by your church leaders?

Would he tell America it needs to spend more on bombs, weapons of mass destruction, etc. and less on the poor and disenfranchised?

What would he think upon seeing Christian leaders living opulent lifestyles while the masses suffer?

How would the established Christian community act when folks stopped listening to them and started listening to him, at his mass rallies?

How would the established Christian community respond when folks started giving their money to Jesus rather than them?

If Jesus were with us today where would he be living? Would he be living with the masses or living in opulence with rich religious leaders?

Would Jesus have a concealed carry permit?

Would he pass a background check?

If he drew a crowd on a busy street would he be cited for not having permit for a rally?

How would the fast food industry react if Jesus bought two big Mac's and five orders of french fries and fed thousands with some left over? Would they lobby their Christian conservative friends in Congress to stop that?

How would the Wine industry react if Jesus started turning water into wine? Would they lobby their Christian conservative friends in Congress to stop that?

How would the healthcare insurance companies react if Jesus started healing the sick for free? Would they lobby their Christian conservative friends in Congress to stop that?

How can someone…..

Look at nature and not believe there is a God?  Stuff just didn’t spring up for nothiing!   Not trying to force my faith on anyone, just saying…

Maybe this will be the year

When I finally get it all together and receive everything that God has in store for me!

Dear Lord, please comfort those who lost loved ones in the school shooting today.  Let them know that you are with them always.

I pray that somehow, you would find someway for Nicie and I to be together.  I love her so much, more then any other woman I’ve been attracted to.  I am not imagining my feelings towards her.

Being A Christian………

Doesn’t mean that life will be easy. As a matter of fact, it will be harder with all the stuff thrown in your path by Satan. But never forget, no matter what’s going  on, Jesus is always with you!

Getting Back

Lord, I think I'm starting to drift away from you, please help me get back!

I know I'm Not Supposed To..

Sometimes I feel embarrassed at being a Christian, with the faith being hijacked by extremists. It’s one thing to condemn someone for their beliefs/ lack thereof , or sexuality, but to say that those people should be killed?  That goes against every thing Jesus taught.  Did he say kill people of other religions, like some want done to Muslims? NO! Did he say kill gay people? AGAIN, NO! Did he say try to take over an elected government and replace it with a Theocracy? STLL NO!  Where are the moderates?  They probably don’t think I’m a Christian because of my political beliefs.  But  I don’t care, I know my relationship with Christ is solid!

Lord, I pray that people start coming back to my Sunday School Class.  I love teaching it, it's helped me start to get over my shyness. It will only keep going if it's your will...
